TRUJILLO - CHAN CHAN - CHICLAYO

Combine surf and sunshine with sparse beaches, stylish places to stay and heavenly seafood, and you have all the makings of a relaxed beach holiday. And, if you manage to tear yourself away from the beach lounger, there is plenty of ancient archaeology to explore.

This tour will take you through a fascinating discovery of the most outstanding cultures of the north of Peru, Moche and Chimú, remarkable civilizations, overtaken by the Incas, later on.

You will visit Huacas de Moche, a representative architectonic complex of the Moche culture. Lady of Cao, the oldest female ruler ever recognized in the old Peru. Chan Chan the capital citadel of the Chimu, the largest pre-columbian city and the formidable remains of the Lord of Sipan.

Day 1

ARRIVE TO THE TRADITIONAL TRUJILLO CITY!

Stand in the right spot and the glamorously colonial streets of old Trujillo!

Arrival in Trujillo by bus or plane and transfer to your hotel. Then enjoy of a fantastic city tour through the colonial center of Trujillo.
After that, you will have a guided visit to the archeological site Huaca del Sol y la Luna, inclusive visit to the tomb of Huaca de la Luna and the interesting museum on site.

Day 2

CHAN CHAN – HUANCHACO – HUACA DEL BRUJO – SEÑORA DE CAO – CHICLAYO (B)

Be impressed by all the amazing places that this fisher City has to offer!

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, start the tour with the famous archeological site of Chan Chan. The tour includes visiting two of the most impressive structures on this site: Huaca Arco Iris and Palacio Nik-An which shows different nature, bird and fish motives on its adobe walls.
Lunch in the fishers town of Huanchaco.

In the afternoon you travel to Chiclayo and along the way you will visit the historical important tomb of Huaca del Brujo and its interesting museum of Señora de Cao.

Overnight in Chiclayo.

Day 3

MUSEO SICAN – BOSQUE DE POMAC – TUCUME – BRUNING MUSEUM (B)

Enjoy the cultural diversity given by pre-Inca civilizations settled in the northern regions

Today the tour starts with a visit to the Museum of Sican. This museum shows a great collection with (golden) objects which were found in Bosque Pomac.
After this visit you will make short hike through the dry tropical forest of Bosque de Pomac (Batan Grande). During the hike you will be able to see different bird species, typical to this area and learn more about its history.
You continue the tour to the adobe pyramids/ ruins and ceremonial plateaus of Tucume.
Your last visit is to the well-known Bruning Museum. This museum includes a very complete collection about the history of the surroundings of Lambayeque. You can admire detailed textile and ceramics from the Chimu and Vicus culture, ceramics + golden objects and jewelry from the Mochica, and Chimu culture and several other objects from the Lambayeque, Moche and even from the Chavin and Inca culture.

Day 4

HUACA RAJADA – MUSEO TUMBAS REALES (B)

Delight the breathtaking Museum of the Royal Tombs of Sipán!

This morning your will visit the archeological site of Huaca Rajada, the original tomb of the Lord of Sipan.
Your next destination is Tumbas Reales. This museum shows a great collection with many (golden) objects that were found in the original tomb from the Lord of Sipan.

After this tour we bring you to the airport or bus terminal.
