OVERVIEW

In this tour you will experience the spectacular Sand Dunes of Ica, the amazing views of the ocean, the natural oasis of Huacachina, spectacular marine fauna of the Ballestas Islands and obviously the impressive Nazca Lines in Peru.

This tour starts in the port of Paracas, where you will take a boat tour (about 2 hours) to the Ballestas Islands, which are very famous for their abundant wildlife such as Humbolt penguins, sea lions, seagulls and several coastal bird species. With a little luck you will also see penguins and dolphins.  After this tour it is time to visit the Huacachina oasis in the Ica desert. In Ica you will have the opportunity to enjoy the sandboarding.

The Nazca Lines are the main attraction of this tour. You will appreciate animal shapes, which are high atop an incredibly flat plateau. Those are perhaps some of the most mysterious formations on the planet.

Nazca is actually one of the most arid locations on earth. Until this moment the reason about who built them and why is a complete mystery. No one has a real proof about it. One theory about the Nazca Lines is that the main motivation of the Nazca civilization was religious. They thought that with the construction of these images their gods could see them from the sky. Some archaeologists support the theory that the Nazca Lines were intended to point to the places on the distant horizon, where the sun and other celestial bodies rise or set. The Nazca Lines are an enigma. Fly over the Nazca lines and be captured by this fantastic archeological mystery!

ITINERARY

Day 1

LIMA – NAZCA (S at bus)

Majestic Nazca Lines Overflight

Take a transportation from your hotel to the bus station to take  the bus  Lima – Paracas. Departure time is at 07:30 am (duration is 4 hours) – on your own. When you arrive at the bus station in Paracas we will pick you up to transfer you to the Pisco airport.

Nazca Lines Overflight

When you arrive to the Pisco Aerodrome you will start the Nazca Lines overflight that takes 90 minutes. The considered schedule is between 06:00 am to 16:30 pm (subject to weather conditions). During the flight you will observe the large center of the Lines: trapezoid, astronaut, compas, condor, spider, parrot, the Ocucaje, dog, hands and also the new findings of Palpa. After this unique flight you will be transferred to your hotel in Paracas. Free afternoon to visit the Natural Reserve of Paracas, where you can find flamingos around the coast. Also the famous beaches of La Mina and El Raspon, located about 2 hours away from Paracas (optional).

Day 2

BALLESTAS ISLANDS TOUR (B)

Visit the Ballestas Island Sanctuary

Early in the morning (08:20am) you will be picked up at the lobby of your hotel to be transferred to the port of Paracas. You will start your tour (duration 2 hours) to visit the Ballestas Islands. The natural variety of marine fauna is impressive. Also you can see the Candelabra (similar to a Nazca line) along the way. Transfer to your hotel in Paracas.

Later in the day, pick up at the lobby of your hotel. This day you will go to the city of Ica to find a hidden oasis, where you will enjoy an exciting buggy ride and practice sandboarding along the Ica desert dunes. Return to your hotel.

Pick up at the lobby of your hotel and transport to the station to take the bus Nazca – Lima (2nd floor seats) departure at 15:05 pm (duration 3-4 hours approx).

Transfer on your own to your hotel in Lima.
