The Eco lodge is next to the Tambopata National Reserve and a variety of wildlife is easily found in this Amazon reserve, as well as flora. You can do some bird watching, go on search of mammals, reptiles, insects, observe the Amazon Rainforest from the Treetops!
Day 1
t your arrival in Puerto Maldonado, visit the pleasant Inkaterra Butterfly House near the airport. Check-in, and in only 15 minutes, arrive to the boarding wharf. As you enter the Amazon rainforest in a 45-minute boat ride on the Madre de Dios River, to Inkaterra Amazon Reserve Eco-lodge, breathe in the pure and mystical atmosphere of this peaceful place and let it fill you.
You will have the freedom to choose from the 14 different excursions available at the Inkaterra Amazon lodge.
We recommend a guided walk along the Trail system, into the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica natural area, where you will find the Amazon Basin. An excellent introduction to the forest environment, impressive trees such as the Shihuahuaco, and the strangler fig, with excellent chances for bird watching and spotting exotic insects.
You can join the Twilight River Excursion in the Madre de Dios River at dusk, witness the beautiful hues changing on the horizon as the night approaches. You will learn about the river’s fascinating ecosystem, Amazonian creeks, nocturnal animal behavior, and delight in the southern constellations clear in the sky. Later, have a nice dinner at Casa Grande.
After dinner, you may retire early to your cabin, or join a talk about the experience of life in the rainforest, as you listen to the intriguing sounds of the jungle at night.

Day 2
Rest in bed or rise early. The choice is yours! Breakfast begins at 05:30, for those who want to avoid the heat and enjoy nature at its fullest. A full buffet breakfast is served from 07:00 to 09:30.
After breakfast, explore the Tambopata National Reserve in a wooden canoe. Sail across a beautiful, mirror-like oxbow lake, home to the endangered giant river otter, as well as Red Howler monkeys, Red-bellied Macaws, Anacondas, side-neck turtles and black Caimans. Return to the Inkaterra lodge for lunch.
After lunch, go up the observation tower (29 m.) to begin your encounter with the treetop realm. For more than a quarter of a mile, you will literally walk through the rainforest canopy on a suspension bridge network linking eight observation platforms.
During this exciting 1 1/2hrs expedition, be on the lookout for colorful toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, monkeys, and sloths. If you wish, you may stay longer and contemplate the sunset from one of the towers. Afterwards, return to the lodge.
Once at the lodge, enjoy the daily Nature presentation in the Eco Center.

Day 3
You’ll take a boat ride back to Puerto Maldonado. Arrive at the Inkaterra Lounge, you can visit the fabulous Butterfly House while you wait for your transfer service to the airport to take your flight from Puerto Maldonado to Lima (departing at 11:25 hrs and arriving at 14:15 hrs).
